“Les Objets”: When injustice inspires a global campaign

Women with disabilities, too often invisible in a world that marginalizes them, are rising to demand
their rightful place.

This is the rallying cry AHADI Foundation brings to the world through its first global campaign, “Les Objets”, created in collaboration with La Chose agency.
Airing on CNN starting March 24, this bold campaign aims to shake global consciousness by spotlighting the intersectional injustices faced by women with disabilities around the world.
A simple yet striking idea

The campaign’s concept is both simple and powerful: sometimes, everyday objects show more humanity than society itself. A wheelchair, a desk, a door — these objects do not judge, do not discriminate based non gender, physical ability, or appearance. In everyday life, they often offer more dignity and humanity than many social structures still locked in outdated prejudices.

A hidden struggle: the double injustice of women with disabilities

Women with disabilities face a dual burden. They endure misogyny and gender-based discrimination, while also being crushed under stereotypes tied to disability. This excludes them from spaces where they should thrive: the workplace, politics, and leadership roles.

The numbers speak for themselves :
  • 3 times more likely to experience violence than non-disabled women.
  • Twice as likely to be unemployed.
  • Less than 1% hold political positions — their presence in decision-making spaces is nearly nonexistent.

Public policies on gender equality often fail to address this intersectionality, leaving these women in the shadows.

“It is urgent that society finally recognizes the lived realities of these women and acts swiftly. This fight goes beyond women with disabilities; it concerns society as a whole. This campaign is a call for the radical transformation of our social and political structures" says Deza Nguembock, founder and president of AHADI Foundation.

This is no longer just about diversity. It’s a matter of urgency.

AHADI Foundation refuses to remain a silent witness to this injustice. “Les Objets” is a bold call for deep transformation — in our societies, our companies, and our governments. It is time to break the invisible chains that confine these women to secondary roles and give them equal access to the opportunities they deserve.

Courage, solidarity, and joy — these were the three principles of leadership shared by Her Excellency Halla Tómasdóttir, President of Iceland, and Amina J. Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General, during the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls (Beijing +30). These values are at the heart of our campaign, reflecting a leadership that transcends boundaries and bias.

A global movement: the impact of “Les Objets”

A call to all changemakers — companies, citizens, governments — to stand up and take action.
This is not a matter of diversity alone. It’s a matter of fundamental rights : equal opportunity and true inclusion for women with disabilities across all areas of society.
To ignore their potential is not only unjust — it holds back our collective growth and innovation.
It’s time to rethink our vision of inclusion, to ensure that every woman — regardless of disability — can thrive and contribute on equal footing.

This is more than a message. It’s a call to action.

It’s time to change how society perceives women with disabilities.
“Les Objets” delivers a bold and necessary message: their invisibility is no longer acceptable.
Disabled women have the right to lead, to influence, to innovate, and to transform.
Together, we can make that a reality. Join the movement to make inclusion a global priority.

Inclusion is not an option. It is a moral imperative. An urgent necessity.
